yang hilang entah kemana

hanya keajaiban yang akan kembalikan semua
seperti sediakala

dimana cinta itu mulai kembali
dan hadir untuk slamanya
akan ku jaga hingga akhir nanti

Lima belas tahun yang lalu, tatkala aku hendak pulang kuliah dari lokasi kampus yang berada di kawasan Sampangan, Semarang seringkali aku melakukan kegiatan rutin, yakni mampir dulu untuk sekedar mencari hiburan.
Waktu itu, waktunya agak malam dikit, kebetulan ada kuliah umum sehingga rada lama selesainya. Kebetulan malam itu film di bioskop di kawasan Metro cukup mengundang filmnya. Akhirnya lepas kuliah yang satu, yang satu ke perkuliahan lainnya maksudnya nonton bioskop.
Pertunjukan dimulai jam 10.00 malam, dan film yang diutar cukup menegangkan. Sekitar 100 menit jantung ini dibuat ngap-ngap’an menikmati adegan film. Kelar nonton, buru-buru ngejar omprengan alias angkutan umum pengganti di waktu malam.
Saat itu, aku menunggu omprengan di depan perempatan Peterangan yang cukup
lenggang karena udah hampir jam 12 malam. Cuma beberapa orang yang berseliweran, tampak juga mobil-mobil yang biasa lalu-lalang cukup padat, malam itu hanya ada beberapa saja yang melintas.
Pikiran sudah melayang entah kemana bersamaan asap rokok yang mengepul dari mulut. Beberapa menit berselang ada suara halus menegurku dari belakang, cukup mengagetkan memang. Tapi di satu sisi seperti percaya gak percaya ternyata dia wanita muda putih dan cantik. Lalu kita memulai percakapan dengan beberapa pertanyaan,
“Mau kemana mas,” tanya lembut
“Karangayu,” jawabku sopan banget deh
“Kamu sendiri kemana mbak, ” tanyaku kemudian.
“Tanjungmas, mau nganter ” tawarnya penuh mempesona
“Kenapa nggak!”
Nggak lama kemudian, kami menuju angkutan tujuan ke Tanjungmas, aneh tiba-tiba saja kendaraan itu melaju, meskipun tidak ada penumpang lain, tapi aku nggak perduli yang ada hanya kebanggaan yang luar biasa, ternyata orang seperti aku bisa juga berkenalan dengan wanita cantik seperti dia.
Anehnya, hanya dalam hitungan menit, kami sampai di pintu pelabuhan Tanjungmas. Sampailah kami berdua kesuatu tempat, dimana di sana ada gardu listrik yang besar dan jalan masuk ke sebuah perkampungan yang sunyi, kamipun akhirnya tiba di rumah si cantik itu.
Tiba di rumah, aku disuguhi beberapa potong kue dan air minum, tapi semuanya tak kuperdulikan karena mata, tangan dan tatapan ini tak mau lepas darinya. Seperti tersadar aku beristighfar. Lantas aku segera pamit pulang, tapi si wanita cantik itu menahanku dengan keras.
Tapi aku tak mau kalah, dengan berbagai cara aku harus segera meninggalkan rumah itu. Terus-menerus mulutku berkomat kamit mengucapkan Asma Allah. Namun saat
pulang aku menjadi kebingungan. Jalan yang tadi ternyata areal pertambakan dan semak belukar. Meski panik, aku terus beristighfar, Alhamdulillah ada suara adzan, dan tidak lama kemudian aku melihat lampu jalanan di seberang yang menandakan menuju jalan pulang. Alhamdulillah berkat suara adzan aku selamat dari sergapan hantu wanita tersebut.

At a certain point in your writing in English, you should be able to identify every sentence you write as simple, compound, or complex. Two additional structures, adjective clauses and appositives, will give you a much greater sentence variety within which to accomplish your writing objectives. This page contains a small amount of information about adjective clauses along with just ten very difficult exercises. First, we will define what adjective clauses are and how they work.

An adjective clause is a dependent clause that modifies a noun. It is possible to combine the following two sentences to form one sentence containing an adjective clause:

The children are going to visit the museum.
They are on the bus.

The children who are on the bus are going to visit the museum.

In the sentence above, there are two other ways to write the sentence correctly using the second sentence as the adjective clause.

The children that are on the bus are going to visit the museum.
The children on the bus are going to visit the museum.

Some other sentences can be combined into a sentence using adjective clauses in a variety of ways, and they are all correct. Note the variety of ways in which the following two sentences can be combined.

The church is old.
My grandparents were married there.

The church where my grandparents were married is old.
The church in which my grandparents were married is old.
The church which my grandparents were married in is old.
The church that my grandparents were married in is old.
The church my grandparents were married in is old.

In the sentences above, the adjective clauses are underlined. All answers are correct. Note the use of the word "in" and how and where it is used.

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT PUNCTUATION

Managing simple, compound, and complex sentences, and then adding adjective clauses into the mix can result in some confusing situations regarding punctuation. There are some specific rules when punctuation is permissible or required around adjective clauses (when the information in the adjective clause is non-essential information); however, in my composition classes, I insist that students NOT use commas around adjective clauses for several reasons.

First, non-essential information should generally be avoided in academic writing, at least in the short essays required for these composition classes. Thus, not including the commas will more often be right than wrong.

Second, my Spanish speaking students have a natural tendency to write long sentences using many commas inappropriately. By not using commas around adjective clauses, students can perhaps more readily recognize when a period is required.

Third, I believe it is easier to learn to apply commas later when they are required than the other way around. Indiscriminate use of commas is a hard habit to undo in my experience. Therefore do not use commas around adjective clauses, at least for one semester.

Are you ready to take the quiz?

This quiz is very difficult. These sentences are actually the hardest I could find (in the sense that you need to know ALL the rules in order to get them all correct), so please follow the directions carefully.

1. Do not use commas in any of the completed sentences.
2. Make adjective clauses of the second sentence in every case. (Obviously, any of these sentences could be written using the first sentence as the adjective clause; however, making adjective clauses of the second sentence is harder because it requires knowledge of all the "rules" of writing adjective clauses.)
3. Spell correctly! This quiz is "graded" by computer, so any spelling mistake or punctuation error, like forgetting a period at the end of a sentence, will be counted wrong.

Description

Sentences have a structure of subject - verb - object, where the subject (or actor) performs an action (the verb) on an object.
Active verbs

Active verbs perform the actions of a subject within a sentence.

Use active verbs when you want to create interest and emphasize the action.

Use active verbs to give an order.
Passive verbs

Passive verbs describe the action done by the subject of a sentence. Passive verbs use a linking verb alongside the main verb. With passive verbs, it is often possible that the subject is not named.

Use passive verbs when you want to:

* Downplay the actor, for example when:
o The actor is not known
o The actor is relatively unimportant
o The actor has already been named.
* Downplay the action, for example
o To add focus to the object
o When the action may seem hostile

Linking verbs

Linking verbs are neither active nor passive and act like an 'equals' (or inequality) sign. By far the most common linking verb is 'to be'.

Use linking verbs to describe a 'state of being'.
Example

Active: The man wrote the story.
Passive: The story was written by the man.
Linking: The story is good.

Active: The secret-service man shot the dark stranger.
Passive: The dark stranger was shot. [who did the shooting is not named]
Linking: The dark stranger is not dead.

Active (imperative): Please help me succeed.
Passive (downplay action): Errors will occur.

Active and passive verbs may be mixed within sentences and used as appropriate.

megubah pelayanan umum di indonesia

Layanan KTP keliling yang dilakukan di luar hari kerja oleh Pemda DKI Jakarta baru-baru ini merupakan terobosan pelayanan kepada masyarakat yang patut diapresiasi meskipun masih terbatas untuk perpanjangan KTP saja. Dengan layanan ini, masyarakat yang kesulitan mengurus KTP karena kesibukan kerja atau lokasi kelurahan yang jauh dari tempat tinggal dapat terlayani dengan pelayanan yang lebih baik dan cepat. Namun , Pemda DKI Jakarta tidak boleh cukup berbangga dan puas sampai di sini. Karena terobosan ini barus sedikit dari begitu banyak langkah perbaikan yang harus dilakukan oleh Pemda DKI Jakarta terhadap pelayanan publik yang diberikan kepada warga Jakarta. Masih banyak problem pelayanan publik yang harus dihadapi dan diterima masyarakat Jakarta, yang menyebabkan kegiatan warga terhambat dan tidak memperoleh manfaat yang maksimal.



Sudah umum diketahui bahwa pelayanan publik di Jakarta pada hampir semua sektor, khususnya layanan administrasi, masih jauh dari memuaskan. Pelayanan yang lambat, tidak pasti, adanya biaya tidak resmi menjadi wajah dari pelayanan publik oleh birokrasi di Jakarta. Survei yang dilakukan Kementerian Pendayagunaan Aparatur Negara Tahun 2006 terhadap 10 kota di Indonesia menunjukkan Jakarta sebagai kota peringkat kedua terburuk dalam kepuasan masyarakat atas pelayanan publik. Memprihatinkan, mengingat Jakarta adalah ibukota negara. Sementara survei Kompas pada 2007 menggambarkan bahwa birokrasi Jakarta gagal dalam menjalankan fungsi pelayanan umum. Sosiolog dari UI, Prof. Tamrin Amal Tamagola juga menyatakan bahwa ada lima penyakit birokrasi ibukota yaitu Incoherence, Inward looking, Inconsistence, Incompetenc dan, Impotence yang menyebabkannya tidak mampu melayani masyarakat dengan baik

Survei terbaru (2010) yang dilakukan IFC-World Bank tentang kemudahan berbisnis di dunia, menempatkan Indonesia yang diwakili Jakarta di peringkat ke 122, tertinggal dari negara-negara tetangga seperti Thailand, Malaysia dan terutama Singapura. Bahkan di dalam negeri, survei Sub National Doing Business yang dilakukan tahun 2009 juga menempatkan Jakarta di peringkat 7 diantara 14 kota lain dalam hal kemudahan memulai bisnis. Salah satu sumber penyebab peringkat yang buruk ini adalah birokrasi perijinan investasi yang masih sulit. Belum lagi pelayanan publik lain yang masih banyak dikeluhkan masyarakat. Pelayanan oleh aparatur birokrasi masih identik dengan pelayanan yag kompleks, berbelit-belit dan menghambat akses warga untuk mendapat layanan publik yang diperlukannya secara wajar. Padahal pelayanan publik bukan hanya menjadi hak masyarakat namun juga menjadi pintu masuknya investasi dalam kemajuan ekonomi dan kesejahteraan masyarakat.

Perilaku buruk dari birokrasi pemerintah terutama dalam pelayanan publik, seringkali karena adanya paradigma (mindset) yang salah dalam menjalankan fungsinya sebagai aparatur pemerintahan. Birokrasi pada hampir semua level juga belum mengalami perubahan paradigma; dari budaya minta dilayani menjadi budaya melayani. Penyelenggaraan pelayanan publik terlalu berorientasi kepada kegiatan dan pertanggungjawaban formal dan kurang berorientasi pada hasil berupa pelayanan yang prima kepada warga masyarakat. Birokrasi terjebak pada pola akivitas yang directly unproductive activities (Bhagwati, 1982). Gaya manajemen yang terlalu berorientasi kepada tugas (task oriented), juga menyebabkan aparatur kurang termotivasi untuk lebih kreatif dalam menjalankan tugasnya dan menghasilkan kualitas pelayanan publik yang prima.

Kelambananan dan paradigma minta dilayani menyebabkan Jakarta disandera birokrasi. Infrastruktur yang lengkap dalam mendukung kegiatan bisnis dan aktivitas masyarakat serta daya dukung sektor swasta dalam kegiatan ekonomi yang baik di Jakarta, menjadi tidak teroptimalkan dalam mendukung kemajuan dan kesejahteraan masyarakat akibat hambatan pelayanan birokrasi. Bahkan pengembangan SDM berkualitas dapat mengalami hambatan akibat pelayanan publik di bidang pendidikan dan kesehatan yang juga masih buruk.

RIBUT-RIBUT soal pengucuran dana penyelamatan Bank Century terus berlanjut walaupun Menteri Keuangan Sri Mulyani berulang kali mengatakan penyelamatan terhadap bank kecil itu telah sesuai dengan peraturan.

Lembaga Penjamin Simpanan (LPS) telah mengucurkan dana sebesar Rp6,7 triliun kepada Bank Century atas rekomendasi pemerintah dan Bank Indonesia. Padahal, dana yang disetujui DPR hanya sebesar Rp1,3 triliun.

Misteri itulah yang ditindaklanjuti Komisi Pemberantasan Korupsi (KPK) dengan meminta Badan Pemeriksa Keuangan (BPK) untuk melakukan audit investigasi terhadap bank.

Tidak hanya KPK, DPR pun meminta BPK mengaudit proses bailout tersebut. Itu karena sebelumnya DPR pada 18 Desember 2008 telah menolak Peraturan Pemerintah Pengganti Undang-Undang (Perppu) Nomor 4 Tahun 2008 tentang Jaring Pengaman Sektor Keuangan (JPSK) sebagai payung hukum dari penyelamatan bank milik pengusaha Robert Tantular itu.

Kasus Bank Century telah memperlihatkan kepada kita bahwa ada bank kecil yang mendapatkan dukungan besar dari otoritas keuangan dan bank sentral. Pertanyaannya adalah semangat apakah yang melatarinya?

Argumentasi yang muncul dari pihak berwenang sejauh ini adalah bahwa proses penyelamatan Bank Century telah sesuai dengan prosedur yang ditetapkan dalam UU LPS dan perintah dari Komite Stabilitas Sistem Keuangan.

Bahwa pembiayaan yang dikeluarkan LPS untuk menyelamatkan Bank Century berasal dari kekayaan LPS, bukan uang negara.
Saat likuidasi Bank Century, terdapat 23 bank yang masuk pengawasan BI. Dan pengambilalihan itu bertujuan memberikan rasa kepercayaan kepada masyarakat untuk mencegah rush yang bila dibiarkan, akan berdampak sistemik terhadap perekonomian nasional.

Terlepas dari argumen pemerintah, BI, dan LPS, yang harus diuji kebenarannya, kasus Bank Century dalam level tertentu diperkeruh isu transparansi yang dipertanyakan banyak kalangan.

Wakil Presiden Jusuf Kalla dengan tegas menyatakan ia sama sekali tidak tahu tentang proses bailout bank tersebut karena tidak pernah mendapatkan laporan dari Sri Mulyani saat kebijakan itu diambil.

Adalah aneh, seorang wakil presiden yang selama ini dikenal sebagai driving force dalam kebijakan ekonomi tidak mengetahui dan tidak dilapori. Ketidaktahuan Wapres menjadi bukti bahwa transparansi menjadi persoalan serius yang harus dituntaskan dalam isu bailout ini.

Kasus Bank Century juga tidak terlepas dari isu tidak sedap mengenai dugaan keterlibatan petinggi kepolisian. Terkait dengan persoalan di Bank Century pernah muncul sebuah polemik tentang cicak versus buaya antara kepolisian dan KPK. Ini juga menjadi tanda tanya tersendiri yang harus diungkap.

Ada pula isu bahwa penyelamatan Bank Century dilakukan semata untuk menyelamatkan dana nasabah tertentu.

Masih banyak misteri yang melingkupi kasus penyelamatan Bank Century. Karena itu, audit investigasi BPK harus dilakukan dengan tuntas.

Jangan sampai ada penumpang gelap yang bermain dengan mengatasnamakan penyelamatan ekonomi nasional.

Pertanyaan yang amat mengganggu bukanlah pada alasan mengapa Bank Century harus diselamatkan. Namun, pada mengapa untuk sebuah bank kecil dengan aset yang juga kecil harus dikucurkan dana yang begitu besar? Apalagi pemilik bank itu sedang terlibat kasus pidana penggelapan uang nasabah?

Apakah semua kejahatan pidana pemilik bank harus ditanggulangi negara? Jadi, soal mengapa sudah transparan. Yang belum terang benderang adalah soal jumlah yang sangat besar.

CONDITIONAL SENTENCES

In grammar, conditional sentences are sentences discussing factual implications or hypothetical situations and their consequences. Languages use a variety of conditional constructions and verb forms (such as the conditional mood) to form these kinds of sentences.

Example : If it rains [condition], (then) the picnic will be cancelled [consequence].

Syntactically, the condition is the subordinate clause, and the consequence is the main clause. However, the properties of the entire sentence are primarily determined by the properties of the protasis (condition) (its tense and degree of factualness).

Conditional Sentences (sentence presuppositions) is a phrase used to express something that might happen or not happen. This sentence consists of 2 parts:

  1. Main Clause (Parent sentence): the sentence can stand alone because it already has a subject and predicate.
  2. Sub-ordinate Clause / If Clause (The sentence): the sentence can not stand alone / must be attached to the main clause.

Conditional Sentences are also known as Conditional Clauses or If Clauses. They are used to express that the action in the main clause (without if) can only take place if a certain condition (in the clause with if) is fulfilled. There are three types of Conditional Sentences.

» Conditional Sentence Type 1

→ It is possible and also very likely that the condition will be fulfilled.

IF Clause Type 1

Form: if + Simple Present, will-Future

Example: If I find her address, I’ll send her an invitation.

The main clause can also be at the beginning of the sentence. In this case, don’t use a comma.

Example: I will send her an invitation if I find her address.

Note: Main clause and / or if clause might be negative. See Simple Present und will-Future on how to form negative sentences.

Example: If I don’t see him this afternoon, I will phone him in the evening.

Use

Conditional Sentences Type I refer to the future. An action in the future will only happen if a certain condition is fulfilled by that time. We don’t know for sure whether the condition actually will be fulfilled or not, but the conditions seems rather realistic – so we think it is likely to happen.

Example: If I find her address, I’ll send her an invitation.

I want to send an invitation to a friend. I just have to find her address. I am quite sure, however, that I will find it.

Example: If John has the money, he will buy a Ferrari.

I know John very well and I know that he earns a lot of money and that he loves Ferraris. So I think it is very likely that sooner or later he will have the money to buy a Ferrari.

» Conditional Sentence Type 2

→ It is possible but very unlikely, that the condition will be fulfilled.

IF Clause Type 2

Form: if + Simple Past, Conditional I (= would + Infinitive)

Example: If I found her address, I would send her an invitation.

The basic concepts of marketing ( in terms of exchange processes between buyers and seller ) remain the same for both the consumer marketing and industrial ( or business ) marketing. However, there are differences between consumer markets and industrial markets. These differences must be understood well by industrial marketers who want to reach and satisfy the costumers better and faster than their competitors, in order to achieve the corporate objective.

Industrial or business marketing is a dynamic and challenging area that present opportunities for the application of marketing concepts and principles. To market effectively in an industrial market, we must understand the nature of industrial marketing which functions differently, in many respects, from consumer marketing. It is there fore necessary to study industrial marketing for those who are planning a career in industrial marketing.

WHAT IS INDUSTRIAL ( BUSINESS ) MARKETING?

Industrial marketing is also referred to as business to “business marketing”, or “business marketing”, or ”organisations marketing. Industrial marketing ( or business marketing ) is the marketing of products and service to business organizations. Business (or industrial )organizations include manufacturing companies, government undertaking, private sector organization, educational institutions, hospital, distributors, and dealers. Business organizations buy products and services to satisfy many objectives like production of other goods and service, making profits, reducing cost, and soon. In contrast, costumers marketing is the marketing of products and service to individuals, families and households. The costumers buy product and service for their own consumption.

The companies ( selling organizations ) that sell steel, machine tools, computers, courier service, and other goods and service to business firms ( buying organizations ) need to understand the buyers’ needs, resources, polices, and buying procedures. The important point in business marketing is to creat value ( benefit ) for the buying organizational ( costumers ) with products and service that focus on buying organisional needs and objective. For example, a company manufacturing and marketing precision steel tubes to bicycle manufactures is doing business marketing. Industrial marketer of the precision steel tube company, must understand the needs of bicycle manufacturers such as hero cycle, in terms of their quality requirements, applications of tubes, availability or daily or weekly basis, and so on

Similarly, a small and proprietary firm, giving technical advice ( or services ) to paint-manufacturers is also doing business marketing.

INDUSTRIAL vs CONSUMER MARKETING

The basic task of marketing management apply to both consumer and industrial marketing. These tasks are: ( a ) deciding the target markets, ( b ) finding out the needs and wants of the target markets, ( c ) developing marketing programmers or strategy to reach and satisfy target costumers, better and faster than competitors.

However, there are differences in the characteristics of industrial an consumer market.

Differences between Industrial and consumer marketing

In industrial marketing, the market are geographically concentrated; the costumers are relatively fewer; the distribution channels are short; the buyers ( or customers ) are well informed; the buying organizations are highly organized and use sophisticated purchasing techniques; the purchasing decisions era based on observable stages.

In comparison to consumers marketing is more a responsibility of general management. Sometimes, it is difficult to separate industrial marketing strategy from the corporate ( company ) strategy. In consumers marketing, many times the changes in marketing strategy are carried out within the marketing department, trough changes in advertising, sales promotion, and packaging. However, the changes in industrial marketing strategy generally have company-wide implications.

For example, in 1983, a newly recruitment marketing manager of a precision steel tubes company wanted to evolve a marketing plan. He initially carried out a market survey to understand the needs and the requirements of the existing and new consumers. One of major findings of the market survey was, that out of seven different market segments, two segments namely Bicycle and Automotive required 70 per cent of the total market of precision steel tubes in India and that their future growth was much higher than the other segments. However, both the segments needed a higher volume of value added tubes (called “cold drawn welded tubes”), which were also giving a much higher contribution to fixed costs and profits. The marketing strategy of focusing (targeting) marketing efforts on Bicycle and Automotive segments could be achieved only when it become a part of corporate strategy, by investing Rs five crores for increasing the production of cold drawn welded (CDW) tubes from 80 metric tons per month 400 metric tons per month. The company could, therefore, achieve its objective of becoming the market leader by 1986.

While generally it is true the different between industrial and consumer marketing are of degrees, the degrees of differences are substantial. These differences can be seen by comparing the two markets, as shown in table 1.1.

Market characteristic a large of households, geographically dispersed all over country, are included in the mass market for consumer goods and service. But, in the case of industrial markets, it is common to find less than 1000 companies to represent the total market for an industrial product or service. For example, for a consumers product like tooth paste or soap, a mass market, consisting of all the household in India, exist. However, for industrial products, such as, large power transformers or high tension switchgears, there are limited numbers of customers mainly state electricity boards, large private and public sector organizations.

Product Characteristics In industrial marketing, the products or services are generally technically complex. They are used for serving the operation of the organizations. Because of the importance given to technical aspects of products, the purchases are made based on the specifications evolved by the buyers.

The real risk in “falling in love with the technical aspects of a product” in industrial marketing is to ignore the flexibility in responding to customer’s needs in a competitive market. Some companies, as a result, commit the serious mistake of trying to change the customer to fit the product.

For example, the quality control manager of a cold rolled (CR) steelstrip manufacturing company informed an important customer that the customer was not justified in rejecting his company product, as it was as per the relevant Indian standard specifications and that the customers product specifications were more stringent than the Indian standard specifications. However, the customer refused to accept the product, as it was failing at the shop floor operations. The customer, therefore, not only returned the entire rejections but also cancelled the balance orders. Subsequently, other competitors supplied the product as per the needs and specifications of the customer, who placed orders with them.

Buyer behaviour in industrial marketing, the buying process is more complex as compared to consumer marketing. The purchase decisions in industrial marketing are based on many factors. Such as compliance with product specifications, product quality, availability or timely supply, acceptable payment on other commercial, and finance departments. After the initial offer made by a seller, there are negotiation and exchange of information between the specialists and representatives from each functional area, from both the buyer and the seller organizations.
